This book walks it's talk. It is written and arranged exactly as a useable web site should be, clear and concise, with scannable (as well as enjoyable) text. The clean attractive design and graphics accurately and efficiently illustrate the text, which is easy to read and to understand. I love the use of cartoon people with thought balloons to suggest how people think while using a web site.

There is no clutter of technical gibberish or endless verbose rambling on statistics. The chapter on usability testing takes us step by step through the process and is descriptive and instructional instead of theoretical. Steve Krug doesn't feel he has to sacrifice creativity, visual interest, individuality, or effective advertising in order to develop a usable web site. "Good tag lines are personable, lively, and sometimes clever. Clever is good, but only if the cleverness helps convey - not obscure - the message."

Titles in the Dummies series range from very, very bad to very, very good. "Pay Per Click Search Engine Marketing for Dummies" is definitely very, very good. Peter Kent also wrote "Search Engine Optimization for Dummies" which is also very, very good and should be read before "Pay Per Click".

"Pay Per Click" shows off Kent's talent for leading the reader step-by-step through some moderately complex territory. Kent writes in a clear and concise style, without a condescending attitude and, happily, without corny jokes. He walks through the concept of pay per click advertising, calculating ROI, selecting and bidding on keywords, creating landing pages (a very important concept), finding the right words for your ads (a very tricky) concept and then the pluses and minuses of the various services.

Kent truly does cover the waterfront of pay per click advertising. If you're looking for a highly readable and information introduction to the subject, this is it.

I really mean that. The Google Adwords books by Perry Marshall (Ultimate Guide to Google Ad Words, 2nd Edition: How To Access 100 Million People in 10 Minutes) and Howie Jacobson (Google AdWords For Dummies) are excellent introductions to the topic. Richard's new book takes that material much further, using in-depth analysis based on data-driven studies he's done. The chapter on Ad Coverage by itself more than justifies getting this book.

How much do you really know about PPC? I have been looking for this kind of book for years. The term "digimarketing" immediately caught my attention. I have to thank the authors for taking the courage to write this easy-to-be-obsolete book. Wertime and Fenwick did a very good job in making all the techincal stuff become so easy to understand to most marketing managers who don't have deep technical savvy. I also love the beauty of how this book is organized. Yet what I like most is the last part of the book where you are guided to bring everything to a step-by-step implementing plan.

I found this book to be one of the best books out there on this subject. (And I've read numerous books and ebooks on this subject.) Not only is this book inspirational, Scott gives concrete examples of successful internet businesses out there. He also asks good probing questions to get you to think about how you can create a niche for yourself online. His book is informative and helpful for anyone who wants to seriously build a business for themselves online. I wish I would have bought this book sooner. Well worth the purchase!
